Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about Lexfi products: narrative signals, MCP in ChatGPT or Claude, coverage, and plans.

Product

What Lexfi is, and how it sits under the AI you already use

  • Lexfi is the AI research operating system for markets. It continuously reads earnings calls, filings, news, and macro communications, then turns what changed into explainable signals you can query in ChatGPT, Claude, or our API.

  • No. You keep ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini. Lexfi is a remote MCP connector: sign in once, approve access, and the assistant retrieves structured market context in the same thread. There is no second research terminal to learn.

  • Three steps, no new workflow. Lexfi monitors transcripts, filings, news, and macro releases as they publish. Narrative models separate signal from boilerplate. Explainable outputs then arrive where you already work: MCP in chat, OpenBB, or the REST API.

  • An AI model alone cannot read live data or interpret the language that actually moved the name. Lexfi puts evidence in the room: what changed, the source passage, and how similar events traded. Fluency is not a decision.

  • No. Lexfi does not execute trades, custody assets, or issue personalized investment advice. Trading involves risk of loss. Answers remain the model’s, now optionally grounded in retrieved data. Always check primary sources for legal, tax, and trading decisions.

  • Researchers, operators, families, and desks that already work in an AI client and need live market context without writing code. Funds that want the same intelligence in OpenBB or HTTP can use the API. One provider, one connection: financial data built for AI.

Signals and data

Narrative intelligence, coverage, and what requires Pro Max.

  • Seven families sit behind the product: Macro & Currency Alpha, Earnings Intelligence, Central-Bank Insights, News Intelligence, Insider Equity Signals, Social & Prediction Markets, and Claude & AI plugins. They are documented on lexfi.ai and delivered in chat, OpenBB, MCP, and the API.

  • No. Each narrative shift links to the language that triggered it, comparable past events, and what happened to the stock afterward. Qualitative text becomes quantified, auditable inputs. Every score is meant to trace back to source text.

  • Lexfi scores earnings calls and related communications so you read the passages that changed, not the whole transcript. Company transcripts and central-bank transcripts are Pro Max on this site. Primary filings still live on EDGAR and issuer IR pages.

  • Sixteen data families: stocks, crypto, macro, insider and congress trading, social sentiment, prediction markets, filings, institutional holdings, superinvestors, ETFs, on-chain whale insights, news intelligence, quantitative models, company transcripts, and central bank transcripts. News intelligence, models, and transcripts are Pro Max only.

  • Yes. Explainable signals are built to arrive where research already runs: Claude and other assistants through MCP, OpenBB, or the REST API. The consumer connector on this site is the ChatGPT and Claude path; the research platform and marketplace listings live on lexfi.ai.

  • Lexfi has +35 strategies on our web platform. Portfolio weights and concentration can sit in the same answer as prices and risk flags. They are not included on Trial or Pro.

  • Local Argentina coverage you can ask about in chat: Merval stocks, CEDEARs, bonds, FX (official and parallel), BCRA, inflation, rates, sovereign debt, negotiable obligations, breakevens, funds, and derivatives. It is additional local-market data, not a fourth pricing column. Designed for argentine investors and analysts.

ChatGPT, Claude, and MCP

Connect once with OAuth. No API key for the connector.

  • The Model Context Protocol is an open standard for connecting AI assistants to external tools. Lexfi’s remote MCP server lets ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini retrieve structured market context during a conversation, instead of switching to a separate terminal.

  • Enable Developer mode (Settings → Apps/Connectors → Advanced). Add a connector with https://api.lexfi.ai/mcp, choose OAuth, then finish Lexfi browser sign-in. Back in chat, enable the connector and run a short test. No API key is required for MCP.

  • In Claude, open MCP connectors, add a remote server, and paste https://api.lexfi.ai/mcp. Complete browser sign-in and consent. Return to Claude and ask about companies, portfolios, or macro risk in the same chat.

  • Yes, if your Gemini client supports remote MCP with OAuth 2.0 Authorization Code + PKCE. Add https://api.lexfi.ai/mcp, finish browser sign-in, then run a short test request. SSE-only clients are not supported.

  • No. MCP uses OAuth in the browser. You never share your password with the assistant. API keys are only for custom HTTP integrations against https://api.lexfi.ai.

  • Use https://api.lexfi.ai/mcp exactly — no extra path. The client must support MCP Streamable HTTP with OAuth 2.0 PKCE. Mixing use.lexfi.ai, the docs site, and the MCP URL in the connector field is the most common setup failure.

  • In ChatGPT, Developer mode must stay on. Finish login and consent in the browser tab if you see unauthorized. If tools are missing, confirm the account and plan, then disconnect and reconnect after a plan change. Rate limits reset with the window, or upgrade for higher allowances.

Plans and billing

Trial, Pro, Pro Max, and how charging works.

  • The one-time trial lasts 7 days: MCP, API, 50 MCP calls, and 100 API requests per hour. Strategy holdings are not included. A card is required; you are not charged during the trial. After 7 days it becomes Pro at $20/month unless you cancel.

  • Pro Max includes all of our data coverage, including Lexfi's proprietary quant models and Central Bank + Company transcripts. Also, you will have access to strategy holdings, and a higher call rate limit.

  • Yes. Choose Pro or Pro Max on monthly or annual billing from the pricing page. Unauthenticated users are sent to sign-up first.

  • If you subscribe to an annual plan, you will be saving 2 months worth of monthly billing, saving you roughly 16% on the annual plan.

  • No. The trial is one-time. If you have already used it, subscribe to Pro or Pro Max instead.

  • Signed-in users open invoices, plan changes, and cancellation in the Stripe portal from Account → Billing. Cancel before the trial ends if you do not want it to convert to Pro at $20/month.

REST API

Custom integrations when you are not using chat.

  • Use MCP when you want ChatGPT or Claude to fetch context in chat. Use https://api.lexfi.ai when you are building a notebook, or agent and need documented GET endpoints.

  • Create a key from the Lexfi account menu (profile → Manage account → API key). Send it as an apiKey query parameter or an x-api-key header. Keys often start with lk_live_. Routes are read-only JSON; dates use YYYY-MM-DD.

  • Free / standard keys allow 6 requests per hour. Trial and Pro allow 100 per hour. Pro Max allows 300. Over-limit requests may return HTTP 429.

Account and support

Usage, plan changes, and how to reach us.

  • Disconnect Lexfi in the client and add the MCP server again. Upgrades do not always refresh tools, data families, and call limits until you reconnect.

  • Sign in and open the dashboard for MCP usage and plan state (trial, Pro, Pro Max). Invoices and the Stripe portal live under Account → Billing.

  • Setup is on the install guide. Billing is in-app. For partnerships, press, or a research audit, use Contact, LinkedIn, or schedule a call. If a question is missing here, tell us and we will add it.
